Play Therapy
It’s no secret that kids don’t have the same needs as adults, and that’s especially true when it comes to therapy. Children rarely sit down and talk about what’s going on like most adults do. Because most children don’t learn to think abstractly until 11 or 12, they express themselves best through play. I have specialized training in child therapy modalities so I can meet your child where they’re at. For children 4 years old and up, we can work together to discover what works best for your child.
“Toys are used like words by children, and play is their language” -Gary Landreth
Teen Therapy
Most teens show up to therapy because a caring adult has recommended it for them. For most, it’s not their favorite place at first. My approach focuses on building a compassionate and authentic relationship with teenagers, so that they feel welcome and accepted as they figure out who they are and how to navigate their mental health.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” -Wayne Dyer
Adult Therapy
My unique experience in the mental health field has allowed diverse experience with many ages. For adults, as the therapist, my role is to serve as a listener and learner of your experience and to walk alongside you through your challenges. I value relationships, compassion, and empowerment for all individuals. Most of the adults I see are in their 20s or 30s, a time when there are typically many transitions and reflections. Overall, I want to help you discover what works for you on your healing journey.
